Lessons

I have a degree in classical guitar and am currently training as Community Music Leader at CM Studios in London. My method involves a brief introduction to the instrument and music theory. Theory and solfeggio are compulsory for those who wish to study classical guitar, whereas tabs can be used for the study of electric guitar. I rarely ask my students to buy books, as I tend to give out photocopied material and/or ask to take notes during the lesson.

Targets to be reached:

For classical guitar, a secure and easy manner of reading sheet music and a repertoire that's appropriate for the course of study and the basics of harmony. As far as pop guitar is concerned, the student can learn a small repertoire of songs furthered by improvisation skills, which are of even greater importance to those willing to learn blues guitar. Learning chord progression and the relative scales will be necessary as well. An optional activity for those who are interested in performing live, for educational purposes, in order to explore the act of playing with other musicians, a possibility live in locales in the city will be offered.
As a teacher I tend to keep a journal of the students' progress. I use a method that differs based on various abilities: audio or vision. My method is flexible, yet involves some consecutive (for technical reasons) mandatory steps. I have experience with students with learning disabilities such as ADHD and light dyslexia. My method enhances the differences between students, with no prejudice based on sex, race or religion. My goal is that to make my students as proactive as they can become, in order to maintain constant motivation, especially among younger students.
